ReAdW (Thermo Xcalibur RAW to MGF converter)

When a Thermo® RAW Data Dependent Analysis (DDA) MS/MS file is loaded into MassQC it needs to be checked for file components and converted before OMSSA can search the database for peptide matches. This is where ReAdW steps in. The version of ReAdW that is used requires an MGF file, similar to Mascot. Basically ReAdW parses the Thermo RAW file and then converts it to an MGF file for processing by the search engines.

Therefore, if ReAdW fails, there could be a RAW file corruption issue, too few spectra, or another parsing issue, such as file format or missing elements present.
